The resolution, which was included in the Republican leader’s post, seeks to "censure Representative Ilhan Omar of Minnesota and remove her from the Committee on Education and the Workforce and from the Budget Committee." The proposal comes a week after Omar lashed out at Republican and conservative figures who criticized the U.S. left in the wake of Kirk's murder, calling them "full of sh###t."

"It's important that we point them out"

During an interview with left-wing commentator Mehdi Hasan, Omar commented, "You have people like Nancy Mace, who constantly harass, you know, people that she finds inferior and wants them not to exist in this country or ever. And, you know, you have people like Trump, who has incited violence against people like me. And so, you know, these people are full of s###, and it’s important for us to call them out while we feel anger and sadness." Omar added about Kirk that "There is nothing more f—ked up than to pretend that his words and actions haven’t been recorded and in existence for the last decade or so."

Likewise, the progressive representative also commented during the interview that the numerous news stories and videos that surfaced on social media about Kirk's murder were "really mortifying." Similarly, Omar told Hasan, "It was really mortifying to hear the news, to see the video. You know, all I could think about was his wife, his children, that image is going to live forever."

Utah governor lashes out at social media in wake of Kirk's murder

Utah Republican Gov. Spencer Cox on Sunday criticized social media for the role it has been playing in recent days following the murder of Charlie Kirk, explaining that it has acted as "conflict entrepreneurs" that have pitted Americans against each other, further suggesting that the public needed to regain the autonomy lost since its rise.

"I can't emphasize enough the damage that social media and the internet is doing to all of us, those dopamine hits. These companies, trillion dollar market caps, the most powerful companies in the history of the world have figured out to how to hack our brains, get us addicted to outrage, which is the same type of dopamine, the same chemical that you get from taking fentanyl, get us addicted to outrage, and get us to hate each other," Cox explained during an interview on NBC News.
