Assassination Culture: majority of left-leaning voters would justify killing Trump or Musk and approve of destroying Teslas
A report by the Network Contagion Research Institute warns that the number of people who would endorse violent acts has skyrocketed and the mythologizing of acts such as the murder of the UnitedHealthcare CEO for which Luigi Mangione is charged.

Donald Trump after suffering an attack during the campaign.
The justification of political violence continues to grow, especially if it is to downplay or normalize attacks against Donald Trump or Elon Musk, even their assassination or the destruction of private buyers' Teslas. A trend that is especially acute among Democratic voters, of whom around 50% would justify the violent death of the president or the visible face of the DOGE.
So denounces a report from the Network Contagion Research Institute released Monday, which collects troubling data for peaceful coexistence. According to the researchers, since the first attempted assassination of Donald Trump during the campaign, what they call the "Assassination Culture" has exploded, with justifications for lethal attacks and even calls to perpetrate them.
55% of left-leaning voters would justify Trump's assassination
The data that stands out most from the study is that 31% of voters of any persuasion would go so far as to "somewhat" justify the assassination of Elon Musk. If it is Donald Trump, the figure rises to 38%.
However, if you study the responses taking into account the voter's political leanings, 48% of left-wing supporters would agree with a lethal attack on Elon Musk. Again, the numbers go up considerably if the assaulted subject is the president, reaching 55%.
The "Assassination Culture" is not limited to politicians
This phenomenon, however, is not exclusive to politics. The growing justification of violence, even murder, also has a referent with Luigi Mangione. The accused in the shooting dead Brian Thompson, CEO of UnitedHealthcare is being mythologized for his act, especially on social networks and by people of left-leaning voting tendencies.
Likewise, there is a majority support for the destruction of property as a form of protest. The most obvious case is the attacks on Tesla vehicles to punish Elon Musk's involvement in theTrump Administration's cutbacks. According to the survey, nearly 40% of respondents (39.8%) "noted destroying a Tesla dealership in protest as acceptable (or more)."
BlueSky, the left's proposal versus X, a haven for violent messaging
The research also takes a look at social networks, concluding that BlueSky, seen as an outlet for left-wing sympathizers who fled Elon Musk's X, is where most calls for and justification of violent acts are found.
The study concludes with a warning of escalation in this trend, which may be reflected in the real world with violent acts, as is already the case with attacks on Tesla vehicles and dealerships. In the face of this, the researchers call for "political and cultural leadership to explicitly confront and condemn this trend."
"Taken together, the results underscore the erosion of democratic norms and the growing acceptance of political violence in American discourse. The growing acceptance of political violence in American discourse, especially among ideologically extreme communities. Continued monitoring and expanded measurement efforts are urgently needed."
