Trump unveiled new decor in the Oval Office: A copy of the Declaration of Independence

Donald Trump unfurled a copy of the Declaration of Independence in the Oval Office. The White House shared the image, and it did not take long for it to go viral. The historic document was placed above the bust of Abraham Lincoln and under the gaze of George Washington's painting, not far from the president's desk.
"The Declaration of Independence in the Oval Office," Trump posted on social media, accompanying the text with an image of him drawing the blue curtain that hides the document in his office.
The White House accompanied the post by publishing the most famous passage of the text written by John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Roger Sherman and Robert Livingston, although the first sketch is attributed to Jefferson.

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness," they posted on X.
"The Nationals Archives delivered the Declaration of Independence to the White House at the President’s request. It is displayed in the Oval Office where it will be carefully protected and preserved," Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt explained in dialogue with The Hill.
Trump began testing the idea of having a copy in the Oval Office in early March when he explored this possibility with some advisers.
As for the original version, the Associated Press noted that it rests at the headquarters of the National Archives, located on Constitutional Avenue in Washington, D.C. It has been there since 1952.
A few hours earlier, on St. Patrick's Day, the president received Connor McGregor, a famous mixed martial arts fighter, in his office. "Ireland is on the verge of losing its Irish identity. Illegal immigrant racketeering is wreaking havoc in the country," added the fighter, dressed in a green suit to match the St. Patrick's Day holiday.
