CPAC scores an important international speaker: Nayib Bukele
After winning re-election with more than 80% of the vote, the president of El Salvador will be a guest speaker at the most important conservative event of the year.
The Conservative Political Action Conference, better known as CPAC, will take place February 21-24 in Maryland. Dozens of candidates and speakers associated with the Republican Party will take the stage in an election year that will be pivotal for the GOP as they aim to win back both the White House and the Senate.
The event, organized by the American Conservative Union (ACU), is a tradition that goes back several decades. This edition will be held at the Gaylord Resort and Conference Center in National Harbor, MD.
Some speakers confirmed for this year’s event are Donald Trump, Vivek Ramaswamy, Ben Carson, Steve Bannon, Liz Trus, Nigel Farage and Joseph Strickland, who will also be joined by other activists and legislators. The organization also recently confirmed that Nayib Bukele will participate in the opening day of the event.
The president of El Salvador recently won re-election and will be one of the international speakers at CPAC. His speech is expected to focus on combatting insecurity, a topic that was the banner of his successful re-election campaign.
“It is our high honor to announce that El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele will add his voice on our opening day. Bukele is an unapologetic traditionalist who encourages the American people to rediscover the values that made her strong and spread a freedom revolution that is now in jeopardy. In America, Hispanic voters, once a main component of the left’s political coalition, are realizing that the Socialist Democrat party hates their faith, their families, their traditions and their patriotism to their chosen country,” said Matt Schlapp, ACU’s president, in an interview with Breitbart News.
As reported by Breitbart, this edition of the event aims to “harness and channel this energy against the globalists and empower conservatives across the planet.”
Bukele shared that he was pleased to be able to join the conservative community in DC.
“It’s truly an honor to join CPAC and discuss our commitment to ensuring governments prioritize the fundamental responsibility of citizen safety. Without security, we cannot have progress,” said the Salvadoran president.
