Amber Heard capitulates and will pay Johnny Deep one million dollars for defamation

The actress communicated her decision on her social networks reiterating that she "did not admit anything" about the alleged damages committed to her ex-husband.

Five months after Amber Heard lost her lawsuit against Johnny Deep, the actress has relented and announced that she will pay her ex-husband $1 million for defamation. The decision, conveyed personally on her Instagram profile, puts an end to one of the most mediatic trials in recent years:

Depp to donate Heard's fine to charity

Depp's lawyers, Benjamin Chew and Camille Vasquez, said in a statement that Heard will eventually pay the Pirates of the Caribbean star $1 million for defamation.

We are pleased to formally close the door on this painful chapter for Mr. Depp, who made clear throughout this process that his priority was about bringing the truth to light. The jury’s unanimous decision and the resulting judgement in Mr. Depp’s favor against Ms. Heard remain fully in place.

This figure, which according to Deep's legal representatives will go entirely to charity, is well below the 10 million amount that the actress owed to her ex-husband for the damages that she caused the actor after publishing an op-ed piece on domestic violence for The Washigton Post.
