WWE legend 'Bushwhacker Butch' dies at age 78

The professional wrestler passed away Sunday after he was briefly hospitalized in Los Angeles where he went to attend Wrestlemania.

"Late last night, I lost my friend, brother and tag team partner of over 50 years." This is how former wrestler Bushwhacker Luke (Brian Wickens) announced the death of Bushwhacker Butch (Bob Miller), his partner in the iconic wrestling duo known as The Bushwhackers.

Wickens and Miller first appeared in the ring together in the 1970s in New Zealand. Luke dedicated some final words to his wrestling partner in a recent post. He said "My first impression of Bob 'The Chest' Miller (as he was called in those days) was that he was a first-class redneck, and what bloody redneck he was! But he was also an all-around good guy and a great friend."

The duo went from hanging posters of their shows in the streets of New Zealand to touring the world and wrestling for the WWE all in the span of 30 years. There they became "the most popular tag team of all time," according to WWE, and even made it into the institution's Hall of Fame in 2015.

"This past weekend in Los Angeles, Bob flew in from New Zealand to join me in Wrestlemania. Neither of us knew it would be our last days together and his last days of life," said Bushwhacker Luke, who shared a GoFundMe link to help Miller's family cover the costs of his hospital stay in California.
