Trump reacts in Iowa to the Colorado Supreme Court ruling: “Biden and the far-left lunatics are desperate to stop us”

The Republican accused the Democratic president of being a threat to democracy.

From the city of Waterloo, Iowa, former President Donald Trump reacted to the controversial ruling of the Colorado Supreme Court that prohibits him from running in the Republican primaries in that state.

The ruling, which the Trump campaign will appeal, is based on Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, which, for the first time, was invoked to prohibit a presidential candidacy in US history.

According to former President Trump, the sentence demonstrates the desperation of President Joe Biden and the Democrats to remove him from the electoral race as Biden worsens in the polls and popularity ratings.

"It's no wonder crooked Joe Biden and the far-left lunatics are desperate to stop us by any means necessary," Trump said from Iowa, a key Republican primary state.

"They're willing to violate the US Constitution at levels never seen before in order to win this election. Joe Biden is a threat to democracy. It's a threat," added the former president. "They're weaponizing law enforcement for high-level election interference because we're beating them so badly in the polls."

Trump gave a long speech where he talked, among other topics, about the Biden administration's crusade against religious freedom, specifically against Christianity.

"As soon as I get back in the Oval Office, I'll also immediately end the war on Christians," Trump said. "I don't know if you feel it. You have a war. There's a war. Under crooked Joe Biden, Christians and Americans of faith are being persecuted and government has been weaponized against religion like never before, and also presidents like never before."

"I always say Al Capone was treated better than I was treated (...) Biden and his corrupt Department of Injustice have sent SWAT teams to arrest pro-life activists. They've targeted conservative parents at school board meetings who don't want filth taught to their children. It's filth," the former president continued.

"What they're teaching in schools is filth and nonsense, and we can't let that happen. But they're being targeted. And now the communists, Marxists and fascists are going hard after Catholics, even plotting to send spies into Catholic churches. It's all come out, just like in the Soviet Union from days gone by. Now, think of it. If you're Catholic, why would you vote for a Democrat?" he stated.

Finally, Trump spoke about his record as president and criticized Biden's management of the economy, accusing him of "killing" the American dream.

"Since Joe Biden took over, we've had a three-year inflation rate of over 20 percent. Under my leadership, inflation was nonexistent, and we had gasoline at $1.87 a gallon. After three years of Bidenomics, the average monthly mortgage has gone from $1,700 under my administration to $3,400 under this terrible administration," Trump said. "As long as Joe Biden is in the White House, the American dream is dead. It's dead. There is no American dream. But all of that will change the minute the polls close on election night 2024. It's gonna all change."
