Rachel Levine says gender reassignment procedures for children prevent suicides

The assistant secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services also reaffirmed the idea that the celebration of LGBT Pride Month should extend through the entire summer and be called the "Summer of Pride."

Assistant Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services Rachel Levine stated in an interview that gender reassignment procedures for minors should be considered "mental health care," as in her view they are "literally suicide prevention care."

The assistant secretary for health also reaffirmed the idea that the celebration of LGBT Pride Month should extend the entire summer season and be called the "Summer of Pride."

Levine further noted, quoting White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, that trans identity is a child's "superpower."

Your identity is not your weakness, it is your superpower. ... We all have superpowers, we're superheroes.
