Northeast under warning for winter storm

The weather phenomenon will bring a period of moderate to heavy snow and rain.

The National Weather Service reported that the northeast of the country is under a warning for a winter storm. The weather phenomenon will bring heavy rain and snowfall in several states.

The same way, The service explained that the storm will affect Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New England. The center of the heaviest snowfall is expected from eastern Pennsylvania, including the Lehigh Valley, through northern New Jersey, far southeastern New York and southern New England.

In the case of New York, several school closings were announced. "New York City Public Schools is among several districts in the area to announce school closings due to the incoming snow storm. Several Westchester County, Long Island and NJ districts also announced closures, including Yonkers, Hoboken and Paterson. The Diocese of Brooklyn is following the city's lead and shifting to remote learning for elementary schools", explained Fox 5 NY. 

"The storm will bring a period of moderate to heavy snow and rain, transitioning to a rain/snow mix and then all snow down to the coast tonight and tomorrow. Gusty winds and moderate coastal flooding impacts are also possible," the NWS said on X.

The agency also detailed that rain is also expected in California. Likewise, the rain and snow in the Northeast are expected to affect travelers.
