North Dakota: shooting leaves one police officer dead and two officers wounded

As reported by the Fargo Police Department, the attacker was also killed and a civilian was injured.

A shooting in Fargo, N.D., left one police officer dead and two others wounded. The attacker was also killed and a civilian was injured.

According to the Fargo Police Department’s Facebook account, the event occurred this Friday around 3 p.m., when a man began shooting at several officers.

"This is very difficult for all of us. We are releasing as much information as we can at this time. We appreciate all the messages from the community that have come to us in support of our officers," said Fargo Police spokesman Gregg Schildberger minutes after the shooting.

So far, the identities of the shooter, the dead officer and the wounded were not disclosed. The Fargo Police Department is scheduled to hold a press conference to release more details about the incident at 4:30 p.m. ET this Saturday.
