"I saw him very loose, very fine, with a lot of speed ... It makes me happy because he evidently is doing well, he’s motivated," Martino said about Messi during a post-game press conference, as reported by AFP.

"The man from Rosario made the more than 20,000 spectators who filled the Inter stadium enjoy, a custom since the 'Messimanía' arrived in Florida last July. Among them was another star, actor Will Smith," AFP recalled.

Messi was not the only star who shone in this game. Fans also saw the debut of Uruguayan striker Luis Suárez in the MLS, introduced to the fans before the match with his family and the owners of Inter Miami, Jorge Mas and David Beckham. He recorded an assist in the game, but he was unable to score his first MLS goal.
