A majority of Americans disapprove of the way "President Biden is handling climate change," according to a poll by The Washington Post and the University of Maryland.

President Joe Biden signed a series of measures into law in 2022 to reduce "harmful air pollution and promote environmental justice," within the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). These laws represent the largest investment made by the government in the history of the country to fight what the administration calls "climate change." They seek to reduce polluting emissions and produce green energy.
However, despite Biden's efforts to promote plans within his green agenda, Americans appear to disagree with these climate measures. The poll asked, "Do you approve or disapprove of how President Biden is handling climate change?"
More than half of citizens (57%) responded that they "disapprove" of Biden's management, compared to 40% who said they approve.
More Democrats than Republicans approve of Biden's handling of climate change
Among Democrats, the approval rating for Biden's climate measures reaches 74%, with only 22% disapproving. On the side of Republicans, the approval percentage drops to 8%, being disapproved by an overwhelming majority of 88%. Like GOP voters, in the case of independents, disapproval is higher (59%) than approval (40%).
Americans also overwhelmingly expressed having "not much" confidence or none at all in measures to manage climate change proposed by the major political parties. Some 74% of citizens said they do not trust the GOP, while 59% said they do not trust the Democratic Party.
The survey also revealed that more than one-third (34%) of Americans claimed to have heard or read little-to-no information about the IRA.
