Yuval Raphael, a survivor of the attacks perpetrated by the Hamas terrorist group on October 7, will represent Israel at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025. An event that will be held in May in the city of Basel (Switzerland).

The artist, who will go to the well-known contest after winning a competition this Wednesday, managed to survive at the Nova electronic music festival, hiding among the bodies of several of those killed.

"I witnessed unspeakable horrors. Friends and strangers were wounded or died before my eyes. When the bodies of the murdered people fell on us, I realized that hiding under them was the only way to survive this nightmare," Raphael told the UN Human Rights Council in April 2024, in remarks picked up by AFP.

Hamas murdered some 370 people at the Nova festival, in addition to kidnapping more than 250 people since it carried out the attacks. Hostages have started to be released after Israel and the terrorist group reached an agreement to exchange prisoners.

At the moment the song that Raphael will perform at the Eurovision Song Contest is unknown. It will be made public in March. It is also not known what reception the artist will get, although it is expected to be different from that of the Israeli representative Eden Golan in the last edition, who was booed by the audience several times.
