YouTuber EDP445 arrested on charges of sex crimes involving minors

Authorities in Las Vegas, Nevada arrested the popular YouTuber EDP445, accused of attempting to commit sexual offenses against a minor.

He will be sent to Kern County, California, for prosecution.

Bryant Turhan Emmerson Moreland—his birth name—became famous for posting videos featuring raunchy humor, cooking, and video games, among other topics, as well as reactions to news stories about the Philadelphia Eagles (NFL).

In an interview with Chris Hansen, a well-known podcaster, EDP445 admitted that years ago he had attempted to meet a 13-year-old minor for the purpose of having sex.

Months after his statements, EDP445 was arrested and charged with attempting lewd or indecent acts with a minor, meeting with a minor for lewd purposes, contacting a minor with the intent to commit a sexual offense, and sending content with the intent to seduce a minor, according to a report by TMZ.

"In light of Moreland's recent statements in the documentary, the Kern County District Attorney's Office and the Kern County Sheriff's Office reopened the investigation. After reviewing the new evidence, the District Attorney's Office determined that the evidentiary requirements for filing criminal charges had been met," authorities said.
