Israel continues its ground operation in Gaza and neutralizes more than 450 Hamas targets
Secretary of State Antony Blinken concluded his tour of the Middle East by visiting Turkey, where he sought support for "the flow of humanitarian assistance" in the conflict.
The Israeli Defense Forces' ground operation continues. In the last 24 hours, the IDF reported that they had neutralized more than 450 Hamas targets in their advance in the Gaza Strip. They attacked terrorists and strategic points for the terrorist group such as missile launch sites and surveillance towers. They also managed to take control of a military complex from their enemies and reported that several tunnels had been disabled.
One of the terrorists killed in the last few hours was Jamal Mussa, head of Hamas' special security operations. Also, Wael Asfeh, one of the commanders who organized the attacks perpetrated by Hamas on October 7. The IDF reiterated its warning to Gazan civilians to leave the north of the territory and head south. To do this, they reopened an evacuation route to guarantee their safety, per a post on X, formerly Twitter.
Blinken in Turkey
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken concluded his Middle East tour by visiting Turkey. Before returning to Washington, D.C., he met with the Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in the Turkish capital of Ankara to assure that the Biden administration's proposal to help with "the flow of humanitarian assistance" in the conflict has the support of the Turkish government.
After the meeting with Fidan, Blinken said that a full agreement had not been reached with Recep Erdogan's government, but he did assure that they made progress and that they reached an agreement on certain aspects:
Turkey was the last stop on Blinken's tour of the Middle East. The Secretary of State also visited Cyprus, Jordan, the West Bank and Iraq with the same purpose: to gather support for "humanitarian assistance."
The United States sends a submarine to the Middle East
With the aim of controlling the region and preventing other countries or terrorist organizations such as Hezbollah from exacerbating the conflict in Israel, the Army deployed a submarine armed with guided missiles and nuclear capabilities in the United States Central Command area of responsibility.
The Ohio-class submarine arrived Sunday, as reported by the U.S. Central Command on X, formerly Twitter. It published an image of the ship sailing through the waters of the Suez Canal.
Two police officers stabbed in Jerusalem
In the vicinity of Herod's Gate in the Old City of Jerusalem, two police officers were stabbed Monday. One of them is in serious condition, according to The Times of Israel, while the other is slightly injured.
The aggressor was neutralized by Israeli police a few feet from where the event occurred.
