Honduras moved into contention in the 2025 Gold Cup by defeating El Salvador 2-0, while Curacao earned a dramatic 1-1 draw against Canada on Saturday during the second day of Group B play at Shell Energy Stadium in Houston, Texas.

In the first game, Curacao tied Canada 1-1 in stoppage time.

In the 9th minute, Nathan Saliba put the Canadian team ahead with a volley inside the box.

In the 90+4th minute, Curacao launched a desperate attack that the Canadian defense couldn’t clear. Joshua Zimmerman sent a pass to Jeremy Antonisse, who finished with a cross in front of goalkeeper Dayne St. Clair.

With this result, Canada stayed in the lead with four points, while Curacao moved up to two points.

In the second match, Honduras defeated El Salvador 2-0. In the 33rd minute, Romell Quioto entered the box and scored the first goal for Honduras with a low shot past goalkeeper Mario González.

In stoppage time at 90+5, with El Salvador pushing for the equalizer from a corner kick, the defense cleared the ball. Dixon Ramírez then launched a counterattack from near his own goal, raced past the goalkeeper at the center circle, and calmly scored the second goal with a touch from about 30 meters out.

With this result, Honduras earned its first three points, while El Salvador stayed at the bottom of the standings with just one point.

The third and final Group B matches will take place on Tuesday, June 24. Canada will face El Salvador at Shell Energy Stadium in Houston, Texas, while Honduras will go up against Curacao at PayPal Park in San Jose, California.

This Sunday, the third round of Group A matches will be held at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada. In the opening game, the Dominican Republic and Suriname—both already eliminated—will look to earn some points. Later, Mexico and Costa Rica, tied with six points each, will face off in a battle for first place.
