The New York Yankees just don't stop. For the second day in a row, they subjected the Milwaukee Brewers to a barrage of home runs to reach new Major League Baseball records.
The Bronx Bombers won 12x3 on Sunday to complete the three-game sweep of this season-opening Major League Baseball season-opening series, in which they have amassed a total of 36 runs.
On Saturday, the Yankees became the first to string together home runs on the first three pitches of a major league game, for a franchise-high nine total home runs.
Adding Thursday's two home runs and four more this Sunday, the Yankees matched the existing Major League record of 15 homers connected in the first three games of a season.
Aaron Judge is the undisputed star of the streak. On Saturday, Judge joined the legendary Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio and Alex Rodriguez as the only Yankees players to hit three home runs in a game.
And this Sunday, by knocking it out of the park again in the opening inning, he became the first to reach four homers in the first three games of the season.
Only one player, Mexican-American Adrian Titan Gonzalez, fired more home runs in the first three games, he reached five in 2015 with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Judge's hit Sunday, AFP reported, drove in another run off Paul Goldschmidt to negate an early Milwaukee score.

For their part, the Texas Rangers came from behind in the sixth inning to beat the Boston Red Sox 3x2 in front of their home crowd at Globe Field Park.
Cuban Adolis García was the star of the game with his second home run of the year that gave the Texans the definitive lead in the sixth inning.
