World Aquatics tried to open a new competition so that trans swimmers would not compete with women and men at the Berlin swimming championships.
The organization of the Berlin Swimming World Cup was forced to suspend its initiative to impose a specific category for trans swimmers held in the German capital. The reason, no one showed up to compete in this category.
World Aquatics (International Swimming Federation) announced months ago that it would move forward with the so-called Open Category, in order to place trans competitors according to their reassigned sexual status.
