NBA: Joel Embiid named regular season MVP
The Philadelphia 76ers center finished ahead of Nikola Jokić (Denver Nuggets) and Giannis Antetokounmpo (Milwaukee Bucks) in the voting.
The NBA named Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the regular season. The Cameroonian player beat out Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokić and Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo in the voting.
Embiid, who is currently playing in the NBA Playoffs, was accompanied by all of his teammates and the Philadelphia 76ers coaching staff at the moment he learned that he had received the award.
This is his seventh year playing in the world’s top basketball league. During the regular season, Embiid averaged 33 points on 55% shooting to go with 10 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal and 2 blocks per game.
