Oracle Chairman Larry Ellison on Wednesday surpassed Elon Musk as the world's richest person after the value of his company's stock soared nearly 40% on Wednesday.
According to reports from Bloomberg, Ellison's net worth rose by more than $101.Billion dollars, reaching a total value of $393 billion.
Musk, whose fortune stands at $385 billion - according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index ranking - remained at the top of the ranking for almost a year.
It is the first time in his career that Ellison has become the richest person in the world.
