Death toll for most recent Louisville shooting rises to two, four injured
This is the city’s second shooting in less than a week.
A shooting took place at Chickasaw Park this Saturday in Louisville, Kentucky. According to the Police Department, 100 people were in the popular park when an undetermined number of individuals opened fire, killing two people and injuring four others.
Police were not present at the scene at the time of the incident and arrived shortly thereafter. Law enforcement agencies have not yet made any arrests and are asking for the public’s help to find the perpetrators of this attack. Since hundreds of people were at Chickasaw Park when the shooting took place, Louisville Police are hoping to get sufficient testimony about the attack.
According to Louisville Deputy Police Chief Paul Humphrey, the four people who were injured were taken to the hospital and one of them is in serious condition. Humphrey could not provide details about the suspects, nor the number of people involved in the shooting. In his appearance before the media, Humphrey addressed the suspects directly and advised them to turn themselves in to the authorities.
"This has been a week of unspeakable tragedy for our city," Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg told the media. It is the second deadly shooting in the city in less than a week. Last Monday, a former bank employee opened fire at a Louisville bank, killing five people.
