The first military members gathered in front of the courthouse near City Hall.
The first members of the National Guard began arriving around 4 a.m. Pacific time in Los Angeles. The first vehicles to enter the city were gathering in front of the courthouse, which is located next to City Hall. Police reported that several people had been arrested for disobeying the dispersal order given by officers to the demonstrators.
The information was first obtained by ABC News, which published a video of the military arriving in Los Angeles.
Police announce "multiple arrests"
In addition, the Los Angeles Police Department reported that it had proceeded to arrest several people, without specifying their number, for re-entering an area from which the LAPD had ordered them to leave.
"Those detained will be arrested and booked for failing to disperse from an area where an unlawful assembly was ordered," the department's Central Division said in a statement posted on social media at midnight. The dispersal order had been issued about three hours earlier.
