Trump vows to "stop transgender lunacy" from day one of his term in office
"It will be the official policy of the United States government that there are only two genders, male and female," the president-elect said Sunday in Phoenix, Arizona.
President-elect Donald Trump vowed Sunday to "stop transgender lunacy" on the first day of his presidency, while renewing his pledge to fight Mexican drug cartels -including them on the terrorist list- and take back control of the Panama Canal.
"I will sign executive orders to end child sexual mutilation, get transgender out of the military and out of our elementary schools and middle schools and high schools," the president-elect said at an event for young conservatives in Phoenix, Arizona.
He also promised to "keep men out of women's sports," "it will be the official policy of the United States government that there are only two genders, male and female," he added.
The mutilation of children, the denial of human biology or the participation of men in women's sports - as well as their entry into women's restrooms - are part of a debate that shakes the country's politics.
Thus, states controlled by Democrats and Republicans are moving in completely opposite directions on transgender policies, such as medical treatment or trans indoctrination books allowed in public or school libraries.
However, a "new era" is coming with his return to the White House, Trump himself assured, among the promises he advanced for his second term.
"On January 20, the United States will turn the page forever on four long, horrible years of failure, incompetence, national decline, and we will inaugurate a new era of peace, prosperity and national greatness," Trump said in reference to his inauguration.
