FBI links Russia to bomb threats at several polling stations
So far none of the threats have been determined to be credible, however, the agency maintained that work continues to ensure order across the country.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) reported that it received reports of bomb threats at polling locations in several states.
The agency explained that many of those threats appear to be coming from Russian e-mail domains. So far, none of the threats have been determined to be credible.
In that regard, the FBI detailed that electoral integrity is one of its priorities and it will continue to work with other agencies to ensure order throughout the country in the midst of the electoral process.
"Election integrity is among the FBI’s highest priorities. We will continue to work closely with our state and local law enforcement partners to respond to any threats to our elections and to protect our communities as Americans exercise their right to vote," the FBI wrote in a brief statement.
Meanwhile, Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, maintained that the situation was immediately taken care of:
"We pretty well dispelled that very quickly (...)But we want to make sure everything stays safe … That was this morning, and law enforcement jumped right on that and we knew it was coming from a foreign state actor," Brad Raffensperger highlighted in a press conference picked up by The Hill.
