Robert Kennedy Jr. launched his candidacy for president in mid-April, with the intention of challenging Joe Biden from the right. His campaign is based on reviving the old values of the Democratic Party and it shows in his campaign signs, which read "I am a Kennedy Democrat". Lest anyone be left out of the explanation, he used Twitter to mark the difference between today's Democrats and those of the "old guard."

Son of Robert Bobby Kennedy and nephew of former President John F. Kennedy John F. KennedyKennedy, will seek to return the historic family name to the White House after 60 years. He will have to face the might of an incumbent president, as Bidenhas already announced his candidacy, as well as author Marianne Williamson.

Through the social network of the little bird, he listed point by point the disagreements he has with the current blue leadership. "I have known and liked Joe Biden for many years, but we differ profoundly on fundamental issues such as corporate influence in government, censorship, civil liberties, poverty, corruption and war policy, among others," began a three-part thread.

On the other hand, he assured that he wants to compete in good law and with debates in between, something that suddenly does not seem very tempting for the Democratic authorities. So far, it is not known if there will be any kind of event between the candidates.

"I'm a multi-generation Democrat, butI think our party has lost its way. Remember when we stood up for the interests of the poor and middle class against big business and Wall Street? Remember when we were the party of peace, civil liberties and people power? My goal is to reclaim my party and its traditional values," Kennedy added in his release.

Taking a point made by many Republicans, he criticized the Democrats for being out of step with the average American and for being the party of the business elites.

"The Biden administration is riddled with neocons, war hawks, Wall Street people and former business lobbyists. That's what the party elite has become. But I know that the grassroots - and the American people as a whole - do not share his priorities. It's time to take our party and our nation back to the people," the thread ended.

His platform, explained in detail on his website, advocates lowering tensions among Americans, appealing to common values and ending so-called "crony capitalism." He also promises to restore confidence in public institutions, encourage the transition to clean energy and reverse the country's "economic decline".
