DOJ fails to deliver transcript of Biden-Hur interview, misses deadline set by House Republicans

"We haven’t received what we requested and everything is on the table as to what is next," a Judiciary Committee spokesperson said.

The Justice Department did not provide House committees with the transcript of the controversial interview between special counsel Robert Hur and President Joe Biden, the Daily Caller exclusively confirmed.

The House Judiciary and Oversight Committees requested the transcript in a letter on February 12, giving the DOJ until Monday, February 19 at 5 pm to respond.

Sources from the two committees told the Daily Caller that the DOJ did not meet the deadline and the measures they will take in this regard will now be evaluated.

“We haven’t received what we requested and everything is on the table as to what is next,” a Judiciary Committee spokesperson said.

“The DOJ has not provided the materials requested and the committees will soon follow up about the chairmen’s request,” said another spokesperson for the Oversight Committee.

On February 8, Hur published a devastating report on Biden’s mishandling of classified documents.

In his conclusion, Hur described President Biden’s mental and cognitive decline as his main argument for not bringing charges against the Democratic president.

The special counsel admitted that Biden did mishandle classified documents on purpose but argued that any jury would view the president as an old man with a bad memory and would be acquitted of any charges brought by the DOJ.

According to the more than five-hour interview between Hur and Biden, conducted between October 8 and 9, 2023, the president does not seem to remember when his vice presidency began and ended, nor when and how his son, Beau, died.

Even though Hur recommended that charges not be brought against Biden, the White House erupted in anger at the special counsel, calling his report “flat-out wrong.”

In fact, trying to disprove Hur’s report, the White House organized a sudden, spontaneous press conference at an unusual time where Biden, instead of dispelling doubts about his mental faculties, proceeded to confuse Egypt with Mexico.
