This Tuesday, President of the United States, Joe Biden, stated at a private dinner with his donors in Boston that his candidacy for the presidency would not be certain if former President Donald Trump were not jumping into the race again, as reported by CNN.

The news network reported that Biden said verbatim: "If Trump wasn't running, I'm not sure I'd be running," a statement the news network called "a notably candid assessment of his reelection rationale."

According to CNN, Biden said that Democrats cannot allow Trump to triumph again, and that is why he made the definitive decision to seek reelection amid strong criticism for his economic, border and foreign policy management.

The Democratic president faces questions inside and outside his party due to doubts about his mental health and his advanced age.

Despite the criticism, the president maintains his decision to seek reelection. However, the comment made to his donors suggests that, if Trump were not on the ballot, perhaps he would have dropped out of the electoral race.

Biden seeks to instill fear in the figure of Trump

According to journalists at the private dinner in Boston, Biden made the comments just as he was launching a fundraising race ahead of a costly reelection race.

"Biden headlined three fundraisers in the Boston area on Tuesday, the first of seven events between now and Monday, with more scheduled for later this month. Democratic officials are looking ahead to what some believe could be a billion-dollar campaign, as Biden works to sell his reelection to a public that, at least for now, appears skeptical," reported CNN.

The journalists present assured that Biden was very critical of his main adversary, Trump, whom he accused of toughening his rhetoric and of not beating around the bush during the election campaign.

"He is telling us what he's going to do. He's making no bones about it," Biden told donors, seeking to instill fear in the Republican figure. "Trump's not even hiding the ball anymore. He's telling us what he's going to do. He's making no bones about it."

Former President Trump was approached with Biden's words during his meeting with Fox News' Sean Hannity this Tuesday.

The Republican commented that Biden's words show that Democrats not only want to compete against him in the 2024 elections but against the entire political movement he represents.
