A train derailed Friday morning and sparked a fire in northwest Atlanta. Several firefighters were brought to the scene and are currently fighting the fire that caused the incident. As can be seen in the images, several train cars are on fire and, according to firefighters, between 9 and 10 cars derailed.
As reported by Fox 5 Atlanta, the train was transporting thousands of gallons of diesel fuel and there is no information on injuries at the moment. However, out of an abundance of caution, authorities closed several streets in the affected area, including Defoor Avenue.
