5.9 earthquake hits southeast Alaska

The Tsunami Warning Center has not issued any tsunami warning or further warning for the Alaska earthquake.

The United States Geological Survey reported that a 5.9 earthquake was recorded in Alaska. The event specifically affected the southeastern part of the state.

 

Meanwhile, the Tsunami Warning Center has not issued any tsunami alerts or warnings for the quake, which occurred 83 miles off the coast 83 miles, south of Sitka, at a depth of four miles.
