Hundreds of immigrants are being moved from border towns to the most progressive cities in the United States on the orders of governors who are fed up with the collapse of Joe Biden Administration's immigration policy. It has come to light that a large number of these undocumented people are from Venezuela who are fleeing a failed country and abandoned to their fate due to the dictatorship. The lie that the country try to sell crumbles in the face of the truth of an unprecedented exodus. The Maduro regime can no longer maintain the charade that Venezuela is moving forward.
In a country with as many natural resources as ours, it is totally unacceptable that our people should be thrown into exile in impoverished conditions while a dictator enriches himself at the expense of the treasury and subjects his population to hunger and repression.
Venezuela could be great, prosperous and a reference to the rest of the world, because we have everything needed to be an example of growth, if it weren't for the dictatorship stealing our resources. Our people are dignified. Our people have principles and values and go out into the world to provide a better future for their families. In Venezuela, not even life is guaranteed.
Illegal immigrants are people thrown into an uncertain future. Unfortunately, they did not have too many options to choose from. They had to follow the path of survival and many have lost their lives at dangerous border crossings where traffickers make money out of the misfortune and suffering of those who dream of starting a new life.
It is true: some criminals take advantage of the situation to sneak in with those who enter the countries that give our people refuge. However, most Venezuelans who emigrate are honest people who only want to get by. They are the faces of a reality whose only culprit remains in power in Caracas.
It is crucial to understand that most Venezuelans who try to enter another country in order to escape this dictatorship are much more than a number or a statistic. They are human beings who come from suffering the worst years of their lives under a regime that has led them to the most humiliating situation. They are living proof of everything that the left is capable of destroying when they gain power.
