Taylor Swift's year: Her album '1989 (Taylor's Version)' is the best-selling album in the United States in 2023

The singer became the first female artist in history to have six albums with more than 1 million copies sold in their first week.

A week after its release, the remastered version of her 2014 album “1989 (Taylor's Version)” has managed to become the best-selling album in the United States in 2023. In total, it sold 1,359,000 copies in the U.S. its first seven days on the market and around 3.5 million copies worldwide.

As reported by Billboard, “1989 (Taylor's Version)” topped the Billboard 200 chart, as well as the streaming and vinyl charts. Swift also has the next two best-selling album in 2023: “Midnights” and “Speak Now (Taylor's Version).”

The Pennsylvania-born artist is already the first singer in history to have six albums that sold more than 1 million copies in their first week on the market.

“1989 (Taylor's Version)” features five new songs (“Is It Over Now?,” “Now That We Don't Talk,” “Say Don't Go,” “Suburban Legends” and “Slut!”) in addition to the same songs from the original album, such as “Wildest Dreams” and “Shake It Off.”
