Taylor Swift proved that her team matters to her and matters a lot. The American singer, who this week concludes her Eras Tour in the United States, decided to give a great gift to all the workers who, for 24 weeks, have accompanied her on tour.
The truck drivers were the first to receive Swift's gift: a check for $100,000 each to those who have driven the nearly 50 vehicles the artist has used during her performances, according to TMZ. The news was soon picked up by other media outlets, and CNN managed to speak with Michael Scherkenbach, founder and CEO of trucking company Shomotion, one of the companies in charge of renting both vehicles and truck drivers for Taylor Swift's tour.

The amount of money, Scherkenbach explained, is "generous," as "the typical amount is $5,000 to $10,000 each. So this large amount is unbelievable." They were very grateful for the gesture from Swift and her father, who showed concern for their workers:
These men and women, they live on the road. They sleep during the day and work all night. It’s a grueling task. They leave their families, young children for weeks. For Taylor’s tour, they’ve been away from home for 24 weeks.
It was the artist's father, Scott Swift, who gave the truck drivers the gift, which was accompanied by handwritten notes from the artist herself. He did so during a meeting he called on Monday and, while everyone thought it was routine, Scott Swift showed up and that surprised the truckers there:
Taylor family is always present and kind to our drivers but Scott generally doesn’t lead the meeting. Scott gave a speech saying that he had discussed this with Taylor and they thought that it was only right that everybody received a bonus. Taylor insisted on writing a handwritten note to each driver and [added] a wax seal on the envelope with her monogram.
They were not the only ones. A few hours later, People reported that all the other workers had been given a bonus by the singer. In total, the star gave more than $55 million to her team and everyone who accompanied her on her shows, including riggers, sound technicians, caterers and, of course, her dancers. This was a way for Swift to thank them for their work just before the end of her Eras Tour in the United States.
