Police have arrested a suspect in the killing of 30-year-old Deputy Sheriff's Deputy Ryan Clinkunbroomer on Saturday. Clinkunbroomer was shot while inside the patrol car. He was alone and wearing his full uniform.
A civilian found him unconscious around 6 p.m. local time. The deputy sheriff died despite receiving care at a nearby hospital, Antelope Valley Medical Center.
Sources close to the investigation told Fox News that the arrest occurred Monday morning, after the suspect was identified Sunday. CNN confirmed that authorities arrested a person linked to the incident.
The investigation
Police offered a $250,000 reward in exchange for information. One of the tips regarded a dark gray Toyota Corolla:
