Popular conservative account was banned from Twitter by mistake and Elon Musk came to the rescue

The user Libs of TikTok turned to the South African tycoon on Twitter because he noticed that the reach of his account had dropped significantly.

Elon Musk had to rescue a popular conservative Twitter account banned for reposting content about Pride marches. The South African tycoon received the complaint on Sunday afternoon when the user tagged him on the social network asking for explanations, which he finally gave and subsequently solved the situation.

It turns out that the user Libs of TikTok, which has 2.3 million followers, filed a complaint after receiving many messages from his followers, who noticed a lower reach of the account. He immediately wrote a disclaimer and directly invoked the owner of the company.

“Hi @ElonMusk, these are just some of the messages I received in the past week. I’ve been shadowbanned for weeks now. Is there a reason why accounts are still getting throttled like this in Twitter 2.0?” he wrote.

The message soon caught the attention of Musk, who addressed the situation and responded to the user. “Your account was labeled as NSFW by our dick pic bot on 6/26, because you posted media with nudity from Pride parades,” he replied, then clarified that the ban was an error by the app.

Corrective action is to label the individual posts as NSFW, rather than the whole account. Should be fixed now,” he added.

The conservative user later thanked the Twitter owner, ending a conversation with more than three and a half million views between all the posts.

Musk recently made headlines for repositioning himself, once again, as the wealthiest man in the world, overtaking Bernard Arnault, CEO of Louis Vuitton. The South African owner of Twitter and CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has a net worth of 244 billion, which puts him ahead of names such as Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates and Larry Elisson.
