'Oppenheimer' and 'Succession,' the big winners of the 81st edition of the Golden Globes

The feature film directed by Christopher Nolan ended the night with five awards while the HBO series won four statuettes.

After a year of controversy, the Golden Globes returned in style and with the presence of practically all of its nominees, kicking off the awards season and with two clear winners: "Oppenheimer" in the cinematographic field and "Succession" in the television area.

The feature film directed by Christopher Nolan finished the night with five awards, including Best Director, Best Drama and Best Original Score. Cillian Murphy won the award for Best Actor for his role as Dr. Robert Oppenheimer, the father of the atomic bomb, while Robert Downey Junior took the statuette for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Lewis Strauss in the same film.

Greta Gerwig's film, "Barbie," another great favorite, ended the evening with a bittersweet taste. It is true that the feature film managed to win the awards for Best Song and Best Box Office Performance, an award that was already known in advance that it would go to the Mattel doll film based on the performance in theaters in 2023 of this film.

However, Margot Robbie was left without the statuette for Best Comedy Actress, an award that Emma Stone took from her for her role in "Poor Things," by director Yorgos Lanthimos. This same feature film also won the award for Best Comedy, taking a new victory from Greta Gerwig's film as well as "Air,"" American Fiction," "The Holdovers" and "May December."
