A new Trafalgar Group and Convention of States poll revealed that a majority of voters (over 50%) believe that President Joe Biden's family received payments from foreign nationals in exchange "for influencing policy" in the United States. That is, for political favors.
"In the wake of the ongoing congressional investigation of Hunter Biden, do you believe the Biden family received payments from foreign nationals to influence policy in Washington, D.C.?" was the specific question posed to respondents.
The majority of voters (53.3%) answered in the affirmative, only 31% said they did not think so, and another 15% said they were not sure.

The survey was conducted among 1,088 respondents between June 6 and 9, 2023.
Responses by political affiliates
The responses were very different depending on the political affiliation or tendency of the respondents:
- Nearly 9 in 10 Republicans (89.8%) believe that the Biden family received payments from foreigners in exchange for political favors. Some 4.8% said no, and 5.5% said they were not sure.
- In the case of Democrats, 11.2% said they believed that the president's family received foreign money to influence Washington. The majority (62.2%) said no, and 23.5% said they were not sure.
- Independent voters overwhelmingly (50.7%) expressed their belief that the Biden family took money from abroad in exchange for policy decisions. Some 29.8% said no, and 19.5% said they were unsure.
Investigations into the Biden
A few months ago, Congressmen Chuck Grassley and James Comer claimed to have information showing that the FBI possessed documents implicating Joe Biden in a pay-to-play bribery scheme "related to the exchange of money for policy decisions."
Following this, an FBI informant alleged before the House of Representatives that President Joe Biden and his son Hunter received $10 million ($5 million each) from the founder of the Ukrainian energy company, Burisma Holdings.
Grassley later revealed that the FBI document being discussed - implicating Biden in a bribery scheme - contained several recordings of conversations between Joe Biden, Hunter and the Burisma executive who allegedly made the payments to them in exchange for political favors.
