Kevin Costner to pay his ex-wife $63,000 in monthly child support

Christine Baumgartner sued the actor $162,592 per month after their divorce.

Kevin Costner must pay his ex-wife, Christine Baumgartner, $63,000 a month in child support. It will be $3,000 more than what the actor offered, but almost $100,000 less than the $162,592 that his ex-wife was demanding. Despite the fact that both signed an agreement on what Baumgartner would receive in case of divorce, she requested a significantly higher amount because, according to her, the three children "have luxury in their DNA" and can't get used to a lifestyle change with less money.

The model initially demanded $248,000 a month from Costner

Baumgartner said that since the birth of her first child she has devoted herself to caring for her kids and her home, so she has no income of her own. Therefore, given the standard of living that the family was accustomed to, which the model detailed before the judge, a house rented for $40,000 a month is not enough for the children she had with Costner. The model requested $248,000 per month at the time she filed for divorce, citing "irreconcilable differences," which was later reduced to $162,592.

After learning of the ruling, the actor spoke to Access Hollywood, noting that the fact that the judge ruled mostly in his favor did not make him feel happy: "It feels so bad, we’re talking about somebody I love on the other side. I just can't," he said.
