Iranian athlete claims she competed without the veil "inadvertently"

The climber participated in the Asian Championships in Scheldt and ignored the regime's order to compete in a veil.

Iranian climber, Elnaz Rekabi, claimed on her Instagram account that she competed without the veil "unintentionally". A few hours ago, IranWire reported that she could be imprisoned in Evin Prison after participating in the Asian Climbing Championships in Seoul on Sunday without the hijab (head and chest covering veil for Muslim women).

Iranian authorities deceived Rekabi. After receiving the order from the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the Iranian Climbing Federation President Reza Zarei and Iranian Olympic Committee President Mohammad Khosravivafa, took the athlete to the Iranian embassy in the South Korean capital. There, she was promised a safe return to Iran if she handed over her passport and cell phone.

According to IranWire sources, Iranian authorities will transfer Rekabi from Imam Khomeini International Airport to the notorious Evin prison, where opponents of the current Islamist regime are imprisoned and kept in extremely poor conditions.

Iranian authorities force all athletes to wear their hijab while competing. Since the assassination of Mahsa Amini, protests in the streets of Tehran and other Iranian cities have continued unabated, more than 215 people have been killed so far, according to the Iran Human Rights (IHR).

Fake news

The Islamist regime of Iran has denied these allegations. The Iranian embassy in Seoul reported that Elnaz Rekabi returned to Tehran from the South Korean capital with the rest of the team. They also claimed that any news of the athlete's imprisonment is false.
