Golden Globes: the nominees for the 2023 awards

The gala will take place on Jan. 10. Hosted by comedian Jerrod Carmichael, it will air on NBC after not being broadcast last year.

The Golden Globes are returning to television, and they will do it in style. The awards, presented by the 93 members that make up the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), will air on NBC on Jan. 10, 2023 after not being broadcast last year due to a controversy surrounding membership diversity. The HFPA was enduring boycotts, causing NBC to eventually decline broadcasting the awards ceremony live.

Leading up to this year’s ceremony, the HFPA announced the nominations Monday. Mayan López and Selenis Leyva, two of the stars of the new series Lopez vs. Lopez, were in charge of announcing the shows and films that will contend for the different awards. This kicked off the 80th edition of the Golden Globes, which will be hosted by comedian Jerrod Carmichael.
