Competition grows: Flydubai signs agreement with Boeing to buy 75 aircraft

Low-cost airline Flydubai announced Wednesday it has signed an agreement to buy 75 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft in a deal worth $13 billion, and options for an additional 75 aircraft, according to an AFP report. The announcement came on the third day of the Dubai Airshow.
A day earlier the company had announced a preliminary deal with Boeing's European competitor, Airbus, which included a firm order for 150 A321neos, valued at $24 billion.

Competition between Emirates and FlyDubai
The announcement is a boost for the U.S. manufacturer, which is trying to turn the page after a difficult period marked by fatal accidents, lawsuits, a strike in its defense division and delivery delays.
On Monday, Emirati giant Emirates had announced an order for 65 Boeing 777Xs, valued at $38 billion.
