Ecuador, like the U.S. and Argentina, advises its citizens not to travel to Venezuela
Quito states that the situation "is aggravated by the refusal of Venezuelan authorities to provide information on detained Ecuadorian citizens."

Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa
Ecuador recommended on Tuesday that its citizens not travel to Venezuela, a country with which it has no diplomatic relations, due to "the serious risk of arbitrary detentions."
The Ecuadorian Foreign Ministry announced the recommendation through X, which was also made "due to lack of guarantees for due process and the right to defense" in case of arbitrary arrests in Venezuela.
Quito added that the situation "is aggravated by the refusal of Venezuelan authorities to provide information on detained Ecuadorian citizens."
Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil reacted with laughter and mocked the recommendation made by the Ecuadorian Foreign Ministry.
