"Pamploneses... Viva San Fermín!" Thus began one of the most popular festivals in the world, San Fermín, which is celebrated every year in Pamplona, Spain, between July 6 and 14. These words were accompanied by the traditional "chupinazo," the launching of a firework to start the celebration. The festival is held in honor of Saint Fermin of Amiens, patron saint of the region.

Luis Sabalza, president of Pamplona's soccer team Club Atlético Osasuna, was in charge of shouting "¡Viva San Fermín!" and launching the chupinazo. During these days, hundreds of thousands of people from all over the world dye the city red and white, as seen in the video above.

There will also be the classic "encierro" (running of the bulls), in which those attending the city who wish to do so run in front of bulls until they reach the Pamplona bullring.
