With his suspension game served, Luka Doncic shone on Tuesday with 42 points in the Los Angeles Lakers 127-113 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers as LeBron James grabbed another record against his former team.
Here are the highlights from a seven-game day in the NBA.
Record wins
With just months left before his contract expires in Los Angeles, LeBron James was reunited with the franchise where he made his NBA debut and which is leading speculation about his ultimate career destination.
The forward scored 14 points in the win that was one short of snatching another record from the legendary Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, this time for most games won combining regular-season and playoffs.
James, 41, is now at the top of that statistic with a total of 1,229 wins.
A night earlier, LeBron had to carry the team on his back with a triple double in the win over the Washington Wizards.
Doncic, suspended that day for reaching the season limit of technical fouls, resumed the reins Tuesday against the Cavaliers with 42 points, six 3-pointers and 12 assists.
The Slovenian also broke the record for most points scored in a single month by a Lakers player, previously held by Kobe Bryant since 2006 with 578.
Doncic, the NBA's leading scorer with 33.8 points on average and a contender for the MVP award, said contributing to the Lakers' current winning streak has far more importance than his personal accomplishments.
With 15 wins in 17 games in March, the Lakers have clinched third place in the Western Conference, only behind the Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs.
The Cavaliers, fourth in the East, were overwhelmed by the home team's 45-30 third-quarter surge on a drab night from their stars Donovan Mitchell and James Harden, who were held to 10 and 17 points.

Pistons rebound against Toronto
With no rest after the battle of leaders against Oklahoma City, the Detroit Pistons beat the Toronto Raptors 127-116 with 31 points from All-Star center Jalen Duren.
Leading the East, Detroit didn't even get 24 hours of rest from Monday's overtime loss to the West-leading Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Pistons battled all night against the defending NBA champions despite the absence of their top five scorers, including leading scorer Cade Cunningham, out for the past two weeks, and Jalen Duren.
The young center did suit up Tuesday to command the win over Toronto with 31 points, nine rebounds and near perfect accuracy, shooting 12-13 from the field and 7-7 from the free throw line.
Durant drives Rockets
Kevin Durant scored 27 points and Turkish center Alperen Sengün another 13 plus 10 assists for the Texans, who are trying to pick up speed for the playoffs after a much weaker-than-expected regular season.
Dominican-American Karl-Anthony Towns had 22 points and 8 rebounds for the Knicks, who retained third place in the East thanks to the Cavaliers' loss.
