The Los Angeles Dodgers prevailed Sunday against the New York Mets and secured their ticket to the World Series to face the Yankees.
In a game in front of their fans at Dodger Stadium, the Los Angeles team defeated the team led by Venezuelan Carlos Mendoza, 10-5.
Now, after more than 40 years, the Yankees and Dodgers will face each other in the Fall Classic.
The Dodgers and New York Yankees have met 11 times in the World Series, more than any other competition, with the Dodgers last winning in 1981.
The Yankees, however, dominate the all-time record with a total of eight wins, the last coming in 1978.
On Saturday, the Yankees qualified for the World Series with a 4-1 American League victory over the Cleveland Guardians.
The Yankees had not been to the World Series since 2009. In the case of the Dodgers, they have been four times in the last eight years, with the last win in 2020.
