Venezuelan rookie Jackson Chourio rescued the Milwaukee Brewers from elimination in Major League Baseball's wild card round, in which the Tigers, Royals and Padres advanced. He did it with two decisive home runs.

And the fact is that, at 20 years old, Chourio is moving from being one of the biggest promises of the Majors to being a huge threat to opponents. The Brewers defeated the New York Mets 5x3 in the only series that is tied 1-1 and to be decided in Thursday's tiebreaker in Milwaukee.

Until now, the legendary Babe Ruth was the only ballplayer to have twice tied a playoff game with a pair of homers.

Meanwhile, the Detroit Tigers defeated the Houston Astros 5x2 to win the series 2-0 overall. So did the Kansas City Royals with a 2x1 win over the Baltimore Orioles and the San Diego Padres with a 5x4 triumph over the Atlanta Braves.
