A private jet crashed Sunday in a residential area of Palm Beach County, Florida, and none of its nine occupants survived. The plane, a Learjet 60, crashed around 12:50 p.m. near the entrance to a mobile home park, about 9 miles from Mar-a-Lago, President Donald Trump's residence.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the aircraft had taken off from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Texas, bound for North Eleuthera in the Bahamas. Authorities have not yet revealed the identities of the victims.

A dashboard camera in a car driving through the area captured the moment of impact. The video shows the plane descending at high speed, hitting the ground nose-first, and immediately turning into a massive fireball. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis described the scene using a graphic image: it "looked like a missile going down," he said, and explained that the crash left a large crater on the side of the road and scattered debris over a considerable distance. So far, there are no reports of injuries on the ground.

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy confirmed the nine deaths and called the incident a "horrific tragedy." The FAA sent a team to the scene to assist the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) in its investigation, which will determine the causes of the accident.

The accident also forced residents in the area to evacuate. According to County Commissioner Joel Flores, some 600 people had to leave their homes and were taken to two shelters with support from the Red Cross, as the area remains cordoned off while the investigation continues. Emergency crews also closed Military Trail between Cresthaven Boulevard and 10th Avenue North and asked the public to avoid the area.
