Netflix opens its first theme parks in the US and brings its most famous series to the real world

In this new space of almost 10,000 square meters, visitors can immerse themselves in universes inspired by the platform's most popular productions: from becoming a pirate in an immersive game based on One Piece, to attending a fair hosted by Wednesday Addams.

The streaming giant is taking a step beyond screens with the opening of its first theme parks in the United States, known as 'Netflix House'. The first location, which will open its doors this Wednesday, is located in King of Prussia, one of the country's largest shopping malls, just outside Philadelphia.

In this new space of nearly 10,000 square meters, visitors can immerse themselves in universes inspired by the platform's most popular productions: from becoming a pirate in an immersive game based on One Piece, to attending a fair hosted by Wednesday Addams. There will also be areas dedicated to Bridgerton, Stranger Things, Squid Game and KPop Demon Hunters.

Admission is free, although activities, which include miniature golf, a movie theater, restaurant and souvenir store, will be fee based.

Following the Pennsylvania opening, Dallas will get its own 'Netflix House' on Dec. 11. A third location, aimed at tourists, will open on the Las Vegas Strip in 2027.

As Marian Lee, marketing director for Netflix, explained during a press briefing, the company decided to establish permanent venues after years of temporary experiences in more than 350 cities:

"It became clear that we would have more flexibility if we had a permanent location," she told the AFP.

Lee also stressed that the activities will change periodically, seeking to turn these spaces into regular meeting points for local audiences. On investment, he did not offer exact figures, but confirmed that it is a "huge capital investment" in infrastructure and design.

For now, Netflix has no plans to expand this concept outside the United States, although the company does not rule out doing so in the future.
