Police search home of a suspect involved in the death of Paul Kessler
The autopsy revealed that he died from intracranial injuries after taking a blow to the head. Investigators haven't ruled out whether this was part of a hate crime.
Police in California have issued a search warrant for the home of a person allegedly involved in the death of Paul Kessler. His death occurred while he was walking near a pro-Palestine demonstration in Ventura County on Monday due to injuries sustained after being hit with a megaphone.
In statements collected by The Daily Wire, Jim Fryhoff, Ventura County Sheriff, explained that the first steps of the investigation into Kessler's death led them to proceed to the arrest of a 50-year-old man who was present at the demonstration:
In addition, Fryhoff said that although it has not yet been clarified what happened before his death, it is known that the victim "fell backward and struck his head on the ground."
Currently, no hypothesis has been ruled out. Investigators are looking into whether it was part of a hate crime.
Kessler was hit in the front of the head
Ventura County Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Christopher Young clarified that Kessler died from "intracranial injuries, which included swelling of the brain and hemorrhage surrounding the brain."
Additionally, the autopsy determined that Kessler suffered a blow to his head," which led to his death. Dr. Young said:
After being hit, emergency services treated Kessler. He was then taken consciously to the hospital but, hours later, his medical situation worsened and he ended up dying from his injuries.
