Texas woman arrested for threatening judge in Jan. 6 case against Trump
DHS officials filed a criminal complaint against Abigail Jo Shry for a call in which she insulted and promised to kill the magistrate.
Abigail Jo Shry of Alvin, Texas, has been arrested for threatening to kill Tanya Chutkan, the magistrate in Donald Trump's Jan. 6 case.
A criminal complaint filed by DHS Special Agent Joshua Henry on Friday, details that Chutkan's office received a call on Aug. 5 at 7:51 p.m., which was recorded as a voicemail. In the recording, a woman can be heard insulting the judge — "stupid," "slave," among others — and promising to kill her if Donald Trump doesn't win the election.
"You will be targeted personally, publicly, your family, all of it," can also be heard, in addition to intimidations against Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee and "all people in the LGBTQ community."
When questioned by DHS agents, Shry admitted to being the author of the threat but said she had no intention of traveling to Washington or Houston to carry out her threats. They should only worry, she said according to the complaint, if Jackson Lee herself decided to travel to Alvin.
