A Mountain View (California) daycare center expelled a 4-year-old boy -whose name was not disclosed- last Thursday after he refused to wear a facemask and skipped the health regulation.

As reported by Fox News, the incident occurred as the father, Shawn, videotaped his son entering the school with his face completely uncovered when school authorities called the police to expel him from the school. "We're trying to have our son go through a regular school experience" Shawn argued.

"You go to Southern California or Northern California and everyone is living life normally there. This is the one area where they just do not want to give it up," the student's father continued.

The family received the backing of their attorney, Tracy Henderson, who sent a letter to Fox News asking governments to "let parents decide what is best for their children in relation to COVID."

Change in health policy

Hours later, the Mountain View administration's school board relaxed its mask policy and, the next day, the boy was able to return to school.

The change in health regulation means "optional facemask use" for all students, district superintendent Ayinde Rudolph said.
